Should you use addition flash cards? We think the answer is a resounding "yes", provided you use them in the right way (gently) and at the right time (interest led).  When a child is first learning addition, this is not the time.  It is important for children to grasp the concepts involved and not to simply memorize a series of math facts by rote.  However, once they have accomplished that skill, flash cards can be a wonderful (and, dare I say, fun!) tool to help your child develop something very important -- speed.  The ability to perform simple arithmetic instantly will give children the confidence they need to excel at math.  Please also check out our Subtraction Flash Cards and Earth + Science Flash Cards!
